Min bror tog drogerna by Frida Jonsson

This post is partly in English and partly in Swedish since I found the quotes from the book so good that I don’t even wanna translate them. I apologize for those of you who don’t understand Swedish..

I finished a book today, a book worth its own post. Frida Jonsson, a girl I studied with at University, has written Drogerna to min bror Min bror tog drogerna, and I ordered it right away, when she announced its release. Frida’s brother was addicted to drugs and went in and out of jail, the hospital, and treatment places. In the book you’ll read, from Fridas perspective, as younger sibling, how it has been for her to be part of a family that’s breaking apart for various reasons. To get the perspective of a sibling’s situation, Frida’s situation, and also to understand a bit of her way of seeing and facing addiction, grief, relationships, her life, and also the life of her whole family, is overwhelming, and touching. Frida is such a wise girl who has so much to share and so many smart thoughts to share that made me start thinking even more about my own life situation, and how I’m facing hard times, and my life in general. What kind of changes can I do, and how? If you know someone near you, suffering from drug addiction in any kind of way, or if you’d like to get a glimpse what it could be like to be in a situation like Frida, or if you’d just like to get some really awesome thoughts on a way of dealing with life, this is definitely a must read. It’s only available in Swedish as of right now (but who knows if there will be an English version later on!?).

Min bror tog drogerna by Frida Jonsson

Frida shared some really good thoughts and wise words, that made me think about my life situation and how to face tough things in my life. Even though, what she was going through, isn’t really what I’m going through, or not at all, I can see similarities in thoughts and her words started a process inside of me that I can’t quite let go of.

Ur Min bror tog drogerna, Frida Jonsson

*She had bought a book to her brother and referred to that one in this passage.

Ps. You can buy the book here.

Marshall Branding

May 25, 2016

Let us take a moment to praise Marshall and their branding! Or not just the branding, but also their product. No, this is not a sponsored post (though, I wish!). I got the amazing Acton Marshall Speaker from Liz on my birthday, and I’m in love. It was a major moment for me experiencing their branding… my inner design nerdy-ness was geeking out, and I loved it!! Ok, enough talk. Time to check out the pics instead, since, of course, I just had to document everything as I opened the box.

Three things I like right now

May 15, 2016

To get inspired and feel inspiration grow from deep inside of me. People, places, nature, cities, happenings, series, music everything is inspiring me, and I love it!

To spend time with friends and family where playing old records is a no brainer. How much do you love this record player…gaaaaah.

To drink coffee out of our newly bought mugs from House Doctor. Could buy so much from there and other design brands such as Bloomingville, HAY, and Muuto.

Scroll & stop

May 12, 2016

Here’s comes a random photo challenge I found on my cousin’s blog and then on Liz’s blog. Unfortunately, I moved hundreds of photos over to my external hard drive and then deleted them on my phone about two weeks ago…so I don’t have that many photos, hence the amount of random photos I scrolled and stopped.

How does it work?
× First, open up your camera roll on your phone.

× Now, scroll one time and then put down your finger to stop the scrolling. No peeking as it scrolls and no cheating!

× Whatever photo you stop on (no cheating!) is now part of your little scroll and stop gathering. Mark the photo or save it somehow.

× Scroll again from your current position, back further in your camera roll, and randomly stop your finger on the next photo.

× Repeat this 7 or 9 or 10 or 12 times, randomly choosing photos from your camera roll (I chose 5!).

× After you’ve gathered them all, share a little background info/story about each photo. Post it on your blog or facebook or even as a collage on instagram.

Here are my 5 random photos

This was taken Tuesday night when Liz and I went to an amazing concert at Berns in Stockholm. It was a big band called, Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox, who makes covers of modern songs into retro sounds. Loved it! You can check them out here on Spotify.

Thursday afternoon last week, I took the train to my parents’ home in Norrköping and stayed for a couple of days. This is their cherry blossom tree in their backyard. <3

I visited grandma while I was in Norrköping, and checked out some of her albums where I found this photo from 1986. It’s all my three aunts, mom, and cousins on that side of the family who were born then. I’m the youngest one there. Left of me is my sister och the boy to the far right, is my brother. We are all together three more cousins nowadays along with two bonus cousins as well.

Once I was back in Uppsala on Saturday afternoon, I had friends over for a wine and game night. So. Much.Fun. Love them so much.

Premiere Day!

May 3, 2016

YES! Today, I’m gonna longboard for the first time. Well, I’ve longboard a tiny bit before, but inside, so it doesn’t count. A friend of mine is coming over this afternoon and we’re gonna longboard together, which is gonna be fab! I’m stoked as you probably can tell, but it feels like I’ve been waiting on this moment forever. The sun is out, it’s gonna be pretty warm today, and the gravel is gone from the sidewalks and streets! Perfection.

Tip #1: If you would like to follow my little longboard story, check out the category; longboard

Tip #2: You can also check out my little video I made last fall. You find it here and also on my Vimeo account, here.

Hope you’re having a great week!
