We are heading back to the mountains today. The beach time has been great, but it feels good to come back to our apartment and our little girl, Zola (Liz’s brother has been taken care of her while we’ve been out of town).
There’s a place in Sweden that I call magic. To me it is. I love this place with so many memories, a place where family and friends gather together, and just have fun. It’s in the archipelago on the east coast of Sweden and I’ve spent some time during the summer, almost every year, since I was born. I was only six weeks old the first time I was here. Even though I’m living across the Atlantic Ocean now, I know that I will always try to do my best, to get to my magical place every summer. Without any specific order, I’m gonna share some of my favorite pictures from summer 2013 at my magical place.
Liz’s cousin works as a hair stylist at the beach, and today we went over to the salon to get my hair cut. Yay. Just trimmed it, but it feels so good. Other than that, we’ve been beachin’ it, riding the boat, been swimming, and are now getting ready to go out and eat. Can’t believe how fast this week has gone…we’re heading back to the mountains on Sunday. Then it’s only about two weeks left until I start school. Woo hoo!
My dear friend, Jessica, turned 30 last Sunday so Liz and I with Jessica & her family went to Dollywood in Tennessee (about 1.5-2 hour drive from Asheville)! It’s Dolly Parton’s amusement park. Yes, she has an amusement park. I’ve been to this area before, but “just” done some shopping, since there’s a major outlet shopping mall there. But this time, we skipped the shopping, and went to Dollywood! We had a blast and stayed there for several hours! So much fun! We also got season passes so we can go there several times now. Depending on seasons, the park has different themes. For example, a harvest theme during fall, a Christmas theme during the winter, and so on.
Guess who rode the biggest roller coasters? ME. I’ve always been a chicken when it comes to roller coasters…but somehow, I have changed a bit. I did the fast ones and the upside down ones! Score me! Ok, enough talking..let’s check it out:
