An American Visa!!!

June 5, 2013

Oh, yes! I’m a happy camper. I went to Stockholm on Monday for my non-immigrant visa interview at the American Embassy. It is a little bit of a process gathering all the papers I need and doing all of the other million things you need to do before getting there. The interview and waiting time went pretty smoothly and took about 2 hours. I’ve heard or read about other people waiting for several more hours..

I received a text on my phone yesterday, that my passport was sent, and today I received a second text telling me it had arrived and was ready to be picked up at the pick up place for our special mail. So I did. And what an amazing surprise, it’s valid for FIVE YEARS!!!! I though it was only gonna be four, since that’s how long it takes to get my degree. Anyway. That is all set, and we are another step closer to our move! Things are coming into place and so is my health. I’m way better now, although I still have a long way to go. But it’s just to continue the fight, day by day, and hour by hour.

Oh, we have also “gotten” our dream apartment which I think I haven’t mentioned here yet. But more about that another day!

Congratulations on getting your visa, Lina!

I know exactly how nerve-wracking the process is! So much paperwork, so many copies, all the running around & waiting/hoping…The way that you look in the photo is how I must’ve looked when I finally had mine approved in Australia.

You’re truly on your way now!
